2027 Family Orientation

Welcome to the Longhorn Family!

Congratulations to your student on their acceptance into The University of Texas at Austin!

Family Orientation is a two-day, in-person program that introduces you to University leadership, professional staff and current students who will share important information and advice. This year, we're bringing the New Student Orientation and Family Orientation programs together; they will take place at the same time on the same days.  Family Orientation registration is currently closed and will reopen on the Texas Parents and Families portal when it is time. Please note that new student orientation will have a separate registration process. More details about new student orientation can be found on the Longhorn Orientation website.

Reasons Why You Should Attend Family Orientation:

  • You will feel more connected to the University
  • You will start to create your own UT community
  • You will gain important information about campus resources here for your student
  • You will learn next steps for fall Mooov-in
  • You will be equipped with conversation topics to better support your student as your family prepares for the transition in August
  • It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself and get familiar with the Forty Acres!

New Student Orientation

Students MUST register for new student orientation as a separate registration process from your family orientation registration. Your student should register for their orientation session BEFORE you register for family orientation. More details about new student orientation can be found on the Longhorn Orientation website.
