Family Weekend 2024 is here!

UT Austin’s Family Weekend has had many names through the years, like “Dad’s Day” and “Parents Weekend,” but regardless of what it has been called, this annual campus tradition has brought generations of Longhorn Families to the Forty Acres to visit their students and to celebrate Living the Longhorn Life®. 
Please note: Family Weekend is intended for all currently enrolled undergraduate students and their families only.

Lanyard Pick-up and On-site Registration Schedule

You (or your student with their UT ID) can pick up your Family Weekend registration materials at the times and locations below:

Friday, April 19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Gregory Gym Plaza
Friday, April 19, 5-7 p.m. at AT&T Hotel and Conference Ceremony, Grand Ballroom
Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Gregory Gym Plaza

If you need to add family members to your registration or need to create a new registration, you may do so at lanyard pick-up times for $8 per person. Credit or debit payments only.

Don't Miss the Welcome Reception on Friday, April 19!

Before heading off to dinner at your Longhorn's favorite Austin spot, you'll want to attend Friday's come-and-go Family Weekend Welcome Reception from 5-7 p.m. to meet and visit with campus leadership from all undergraduate colleges and schools as well as many non-academic departments and programs. Be sure to wear your burnt orange best for #LonghornFriday and get ready for an exciting weekend of events on campus!

The Welcome Reception will be held in the Grand Ballroom at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center, 1900 University Avenue. Cookies and lemonade will be served.

You can RSVP for this complimentary Family Weekend event when you complete your registration.

Family Weekend Parking

Campus parking for Family Weekend is a separate registration and payment process through the University's Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) and must be completed in advance. Go here to purchase parking.

  • For Friday, April 19: Discounted Family Weekend parking available for $14/day in San Antonio, Speedway or Health Center Garages. Purchase through PTS.
  • For Saturday, April 20: Complimentary parking in multiple garages across campus thanks to Texas Athletics for Made in Austin weekend. Additional information here.
  • For Sunday, April 21: Discounted Family Weekend parking available for $14/day in Speedway or Health Center Garages. Purchase through PTS.

During Family Weekend, you are also welcome to park in any other UT Garage, based on availability. Published rates apply.
